Pete Rose played major league baseball from 1963 to 1986. He spent most of his career as a Cincinnati Red. Charlie Hustle was a switch hitter who one a World Series three times in his career. Then after playing for the Phillies and the Expos he returned to the Reds. Rose reached 4,192 hits and broke Ty Cobb's previous record.
After unofficially retiring in November, he began managing the Reds in August of 1984. By 1989 baseball began to investigate Rose on allegations that he bet on baseball. He ended up under ban but denied claims that he bet on baseball until 2004.
