Hanna Columbia Baseball Bats

Hanna Columbia Baseball Bats

The Hanna Manufacturing Company is credited with making important improvements to the design of baseball bats. One of the great improvements came in 1933 with the introduction of the Hanna patented Batrite non-chipping treatment used on all bats. This treatment not only benefitted the batters who originally used the bats, but it also served to improve the overall quality of antique Hanna Columbia baseball bats on the market today.

Collectors probably won't find Hanna Columbia baseball bats with a lot of chips. What they might find are Hanna Columbia baseball bats with unusual stain finishes that increase the uniqueness and value of the bats. Hanna Columbia baseball bats in perfect or near perfect condition with a greenish finish can expect to sell for a respectable amount of green.

The Hanna Manufacturing Company got started down in Athens Georgia. The company started out making handles and farm tools. In 1926 The Hanna Company decided to get into the baseball business. They first designed toy bats. It quickly evolved and they began making bats for sporting goods stores and then to the majors. The highest quality of Hanna bat is the Batrite. You won't find a Hanna bat after 1976. That was the year the company went out of business.
