Hank Aaron played in the majors from 1954 to 1976. He played for the Milwaukee Braves and Brewers. He started his career in the Negro leagues. He grew up in Mobile Alabama and had seven brothers and sisters. In High school he played baseball and football. He received scholarship offers for his football skills. He much preferred baseball. In 1951 he began playing for the Indianapolis Clowns.
When Aaron was only 18 the Clowns went on to win the Negro League Championship. Soon after, he signed with the Milwaukee Braves. In 1954 he made is official Major League debut. In 1955 he went to the all star game. He would go on to play in a total of 24 all star games. On April 8, 1974 Hammerin' Hank broke Babe Ruth's record. On August 1, 1982 he was elected to the hall of fame.
