 Cal Ripken Jr played shortstop and third baseman in Major League Baseball. He wore an Orioles jersey his entire career. Cal went to the All Star Game 19 times. He earned a nickname because he would also play with injuries. The name Iron Man proved true when he played a record 2,632 games. He broke Gehrig's record in 1995. In his rookie year he won the Rookie of the Year award.

 In 2000 Cal got his 3,000th hit while playing the Twins. In 2001 Cal announced that he would retire at the end of the season. At the all star game he received the MVP award. After his retirement the Orioles retired his jersey.
